How to remain calm under pressure?

          We face many challenges in our life and sometimes the pressure can build up and just let us explode. Mastering the art of remaining calm is easier said than done. This is especially true if you have deadlines and class schedules.

I try to deal with stress by eating ice cream and having a good run. If it does not work, I  try to think of possible solutions while trying to remind myself that I have to be calm and collected.

First, I think that the problem is not being stressed but being A LOT stressed. With that in my mind I try to reason to myself saying that If i get too much stress it won't help me, but if i get the right amount of stress it will help me. Why would I do that? because by doing this I change the whole game. Before, I had only one option( i.e get rid of the stress and be calm) but now I have another option and that is to turn the stress into an ally. Nietzsche said that if you stare into the abyss the abyss will stare back at you. If you look to much at the stress as a problem, it will become indeed the biggest problem for you.

I have been practicing yoga for two years, it helps me to remain calm and makes my mind clearer. Gym and swimming also helps me to get rid of negative energy, highly recommend you.

Vitor is right and I will even add that sometimes, the fear of fear is itself a bigger fear than fear. Confronting the situation and dealing with it is sometimes the best solution to the problem.
