It is no longer strange to see a seemingly ordinary person become popular in a country.

The biggest stars in America are reality TV stars. The Kardashians earn millions of dollars from their TV show and their social media accounts. They are a big hit in America as reality TV stars but of course, they found it difficult to gain a following in the Chinese market.

In my country, the Philippines, Youtube influencers became popular. These are ordinary people with a great following on social media.

Reality TV and social media channels such as Youtube gave ordinary people a chance at stardom. Back in the day, it is extremely difficult to become popular. Actresses and actors go through a screening process and they are being judged by their looks, their talent and so on.

Now that Youtube became popular, people found an entirely new outlet to stardom and that is, of course, the newfound niche which is DIGITAL MEDIA.
