if you're using a french azerty keyboard, you need to first use the "^" key just next to the "p" key, on the right, and then type "e".

I'm using a Canadian keyboard layout. For accent circonflexe you need to hold [ and press the vowel you need. I don't know why but the French keaboard layout never worked for me!

Thoughtco has an article about accents. Google “How to type french accents”, then look for thoughtco.  You may have the wrong keyboard setting. Follow the directions and it should get you there. Good luck!

On my keyboard, I use option-i then the letter “e”.  Try the “i” key. Ê ê
