Hi Chahrazed

First of all :

Try to write good english for that everybody can understand you.

Then if you want to start to improve your japanese, learn hiragana and katana syllabs. It's fundamental. You can find them easily on google.

Don't hesitate to ask for more info.

Daniel, your 今日のひとこと is correct !

Here is an possible answer to your question !
だ (Da) doesnt belong to と思います。 だ is the last word of 上手だ (the basic form is 上手な)

I recommend an easy rule.

*When the content ends by verbs, you write と思います
for example
I think she passed the exam.
彼女は試験に合格した と思います。
I think it will rain today.
今日は雨がふる と思います。

*When the content ends by adjectives ending with だ (the basic form is な) you write だと思います
for example,
I think John is bad at swimming.
ジョンさんは泳ぐのが下手だと思います。 the basic form is 「下手な」
*When the content ends by noun, you write だと思います
I think this is John's bag.
これはジョンさんのかばん だと思います。

I m sure this is not a perfect answer covering all grammar so please add comments somebody has other ideas!!

Hi.
You use だと思います because when you use 上手 without と思います the sentence woould be :
ジョンさんは泳ぐのは上手です。

So when you use the と思います form,  です becomes だ (plain form).

If you use and adjective like 難しい (difficult), you don't need do you use です to make a sentence.

For xample :

難しい only means : that's difficult. It's a complete sentence. 上手 alone is not a sentence. You must add です、でしょう。。。。

難しいです is more polite.

If you want to use the と思います form you'll use as :

運転するのが難しいと思います (no だ before と思います).
