Hello..
I have to write a report about the Corone crisis and i do not exactly know how to write one. I would be really greatfull, if you help me. Here are the bullet points:
During the current Corona crisis a lot of fake news and hoaxes have been spread online. The next issue of your school magazine focuses on raising media awareness. Therefore, you have been asked to send in reports on this topic.
In your report you should
· explain how fake news and hoaxes about Corona have been spread.
· discuss the consequences and effects of these phenomena on the public.
· suggest ways how students can avoid and spot online misinformation.
Write 250 words. Don’t forget to divide your report into sections (headings) and to use a nice variety of linking devices.

First give introduction about what is corona virus, why it's called COVID-19, symptoms, spread rate, etc.
1. explain how fake news and hoaxes about Corona have been spread.
- write about the role of social media, media sensationalism, journalism ethics, lack of regulation, reliance on political & religious leaders rather than scientists to form an opinion
2. discuss the consequences and effects of these phenomena on the public.
- wrong information making people careless, not following proper social (physical) distancing
- using home remedies
- fear mongering by media may sometimes leading to attack on authorities and essential workers
- people forcing healthcare workers to leave rental housing due to fear of spread
3. suggest ways how students can avoid and spot online misinformation.
- fact-checking websites
- well-established national newspapers rather than online blogs
- spread awareness about hoaxes
- use of technology like AI
- creating pressure on social media giants to take proactive approach in curbing fake news
conclusion - pandemic can be managed, fake news can't be. Ignorance is more dangerous than virus in these times.
