About Fasting
Should we fast despite the corona? By the way, do you have any idea about fasting?

My husband and I fast intermittently most days, and it lasts from 16-22 hrs. I fast regularly for 7 days at a time (water only); regularly for me is about every three months. I’ve never completed a dry fast beyond 24 hrs, and I’ve never fasted (water only) beyond 7 days. Fasting works for me. I’m healthier, stronger, and leaner than when I started this lifestyle about two years ago. I recognize that it’s not for everyone, but it’s worth a try if at all interested 🙂 *I’m not a doctor.

No beverages and no food for 16 hours. The time depends on the cordinates though.

Do you mean the Ramadan Sawm? I'm not МusIim but I understand that the sick, the old and the very young are exempt from it. So if anyone is sick, that should mean they aren't obliged to fast.

The longest I ever did was 7 days. By then I was inches from the TV screen fascinated by a commercial for ketchup. It was hard only on days 6,7. I have done many 3 day fasts, 1 or 2 day. I try to do intermittent fasting where I only eat dinner. I've read it is good for various problems. There are a lot of videos on Youtube on it. I always tell people that you don't know what hunger is if you've never been without food for more than a few days. A Japanese, I forgot his name, won the Nobel Prize for medicine a few years ago for work on how the cell responds to lack of food and how beneficial it is to fast for our bodies

Yes, that's what I remember from the friends I grew up with who fasted for religious reasons.

I think a medical professional (which I am not) would have to weigh in on whether it is safe to fast sixteen hours or fewer without any beverages, in the context of a coronavirus outbreak. As far as I know, there isn't adequate research about dry fasts in this particular situation.
