A Mother's Day poem
Mom, 2020
We’ve been through much this past year.
Some events were shared,
Even though miles separate us.
I wish our family had not shrunk.
We lost someone who we loved.
We didn’t know just how much,
Until the one day in March.
My regret is that I didn’t let him know.
Perhaps I didn’t even know.
But I do not want the same regret with you.
I want you to know how much,
Just how much I love you.
I value the days we have.
I value you.
You have taught me much.
You’ve loved me much.
I want you to know,
Before time runs out.
Please feel my love.
Take it and carry it in your heart.
On those lonely days,
On those difficult days,
And the days in-between:
Reach in and touch it;
Remember my love for you.
