Hi, not always is necesary speak with a nitive speaker from the language. I`ve been in the USA for a year an 6 months and most of the time i`ve been talking with people who are not from here but have been studing Engliesh and talking English for many years that is how I`m learning. And my English is much better now than a year ago and wasen`t thanks for a native speakers. The clue is talk with people who knows the languagge who can help with pronutiation, with some words, correct some things and specially talk. Talk is the clue because there is how you really can practice, and write it always help to knew new words and understan the difference between some words which have the same pronutiation but different speling. So if you find a native speaker great! if not don't hesitate in accept help from somebody else.

I think the best approach on this site is to write a paragraph or two in the "Notebook" section and ask native speakers to correct it.

I think native speakers are not interested in teach others English and sometimes an exchange doesn't work. I couldn't find a native speaker but I think it's not necessary when you are committed and are constantly learning from resources you have.
