Professional Teacher
Over 70 Lessons In The First Month.
I would just like to say, its not about what you teach, its about how you teach. I hear my friends complain about not getting lessons on a regular basis. They ask me what I do differently, my answer is always the same, that I am enthusiastic and really enjoy my time, I dont see it as a way to earn an extra income, I see it as making new friends and helping out where can.

So to all the new teachers out here struggling, pick up your enthusiasm, redo your introductory video and get excited about this. Its absolutely the easiest was to get started and noticed.

Molweni Somila, kunjani? ;)

I really dont believe in luck. I also just checked your profile out, it does look good and you have 8 students. Do you send them lesson requests? Do you keep in touch with them to just see how its going with them? You have to show that you care, you have to be a leader, send your students motivational quotes, notes or anything really, just get your students to take packages with you. They will only do that once you lead them.

Good luck my fellow South African

Congratulations, Sinjin. 31 lessons with the same student in one month, though? Your first month? That's nothing short of a miracle.

I’m a new teacher on italki . It’s tough, there is an influx of teachers and maybe not enough students . Especially for English in my opinion. I’ve done and keep doing everything that people say new teachers should do. At this point it’s a game of luck.
