Listen this:

It's a song that was written by a famous Italian singer some times ago. Now it has been performed by 50 italian singers to raise money to cure covid-19. It's catchy!!!

As some users have suggested below, Fabrizio De André is probably the best songwriter to listen to if you want to enhance your Italian. Although the meaning of some songs is hard to understand and some others are in Genovese, most of his lyrics are quite clear and his Italian is excellent. There's a page which collect explanations of the songs, links to youtube videos and translations in English. Search for the songs he sang together with the PFM, they are a good start:

These are posts I wrote about Italian songs of the Sixties:

To add other songs I've listened to recently, I would suggest these:

Thanks to all of you from me too. Very useful :)

@ Daniel: I thought the same. I listen a lot to Eros Ramazzotti. I know it is just the same... love longs. But his songs are easy to understand, which means a lot.

Guys! Why Italians are not mentioning Laura Pausini, Mafalda and Eros? Even I don’t listen Italian Music so much I think they are the most famous among all Italian singers! I was surprised! Lol
Actually the only Italian sing I listen is Laura Pausini! All her songs are awesome! Try to live concert CDs so you gonna listen the biggest hits!
