Questions about 再&又
In Italki I asked which one of these two sentences are correct :
Chinese friends said
他昨天没有上课,今天又没有上课 is correct, in my Chinese book wrote 又 in using for past tense and 再in used for present or future , the first sentence has 今天 and I think we should use 再 because is present so why 今天没有来上课 is correct?

又 usually express the behavior is already realized, but 再 express the behavior is about to be realized, that is to say has not been realized.I give you an example,你又来,this sentence express you have done it and I do not like the action happen again. But 你再来 this sentence express the speaker hope you do it again. The two words express different attitude for your action. Well,I hope that will be helpful.

I’m just a fellow Mandarin student myself, but here’s how I see it: “Today” can be past, present, or future. Earlier today, right now, or later today. Although Chinese doesn't have tenses, there are words used to mark aspect. The use of 没有 (perfect aspect) in this context suggests to me that we’re talking about earlier today (today until now).

doesn't necessarily used in past tenses.
For example,
  1. 芳香美味 (also Fragrant and delicious).
  2. 成功了 (He succeed again!)
As you can see, it is used in repetitive action or an emphasis of a subject.
In the case of 今天又没有上课, he is not attending class today again! or he didn't attend the class today again!
You probably knew he is playing truant and not coming to class today hence you use 又 for repeated behaviour. He did it on yesterday and he did it again on today and probably also the day after next.
If you wanted to use in this context. I would suggest to do it this way:
他除了昨天,就没再来上课了. (He didn't attend class anymore except yesterday.).
So you only knew he wasn't in class then and aren't sure whether he will did it again.

I hope I am not confusing you.

Just my 2 cents worth.
