Vaccines normally take several years to develop. Even though scientists around the world are furiously working to to develop a Covid-19 vaccine, I don't think that will happen for at least two years, maybe longer. I don't think it's realistic to maintain a global lockdown for that long.
In the US, some states have already started rolling back restrictions. Other states are challenging the legality of the lockdown, and there is no legal precedent for the current situation. There are many who feel the number of deaths is being inflated, and that the lockdown was ordered without sufficient cause.
I abide by the lockdown rules, but personally, I'm not fearful of contracting the virus. I have survived a lot of crises in my life, and like the Good Book says, "This too shall pass."
