Have you ever thought about taking a lesson on Italki to improve your American English speaking skills?
Do you feel nervous to take a lesson? What would help you feel comfortable to take a lesson with an English tutor? What can a tutor do to help you feel at ease/more comfortable during a lesson?

It's a valid question Louise. There are some members that feel nervous to take lessons with tutors/teachers. I'm not saying, 'Here's my tutoring link. Here's my prices. Here's my hours.' etc. I'm asking genuine questions. Maybe not respond if a post doesn't interest you, rather than make a member feel bad for using the site like it's intended.

@Louise,
I just passed by here and read your comment.
I don't know this community tutor and neither her personal situation,
but could you explain me your joy in making fun in other person problems ?
Honestly, I think that your problem is much worse than any problem that this Tutor may have.

Hi,
Just my 2 cents..

Not a single tutor here asked me about my real target and listened my answer carefully with no intention to give me simple fast and WRONG solution immediatly

I really want to find smbdy for 10-15 sessions, not for 1-3 easy useless talkings ...

Also I have a difficulty to interrupt tutors respectfully..They are unreallistically cheerfull and friendly ... But I need a result here ! It is really uncomfortable both for them and for me

Regards,

well~ personally I feel nervous talking to any stranger, especially if they are native English speakers. It’s because Im not confident in my English. Im afraid of making mistakes that may make me look like a fool. I tend to speak quietly but when people ask me to repeat or when they dont understand me, I feel bad and lose even more confidence. Sometimes my head is just blank, I dont know how to keep a conversation going so I think people lose interest in talking to me. With those negative thoughts in mind, It is always hard for me to start to talk to people.
I think first expression is extremely important. In the first meeting if tutors can show that they are friendly, helpful and sympathy that would be good. Also encourage students to speak freely and loudly or ask suggestive questions to keep the conversation going. I found its usually hard to focus for more than 20 min so change activities every 20 min would help too.
