You have to go past your initial fear. Initial resistance may be high but it'll get better once you start to talk.

My Spanish is very bad and I'm trying hard. I don't care what other person thinks about me. I just try to speak broken Spanish and improve from there.

So don't worry. It can only get better from where you are at the moment.

I don't think you need to be afraid of anything. I've met a number of wonderful people through italki that I communicate with on Skype from all around the world. It's great if you want to practice the language you are learning and to get to know new and interesting cultures from across the globe. No one will judge you if your English is not perfect or even if you have a hard time with it. If ever you meet someone and you no longer want to communicate with you simply don't have to. You must always feel comfortable with the people you choose to speak with.

Interesting,,, I am also new to this platform and I also don't use English as my first Language. And I still haven't download the SKYPE yet. But why am I not that scared right now? I believe is that I know what am I doing in here. For example, been interested by different culture and languages is a nice way to discover or be familiarized to others and ourselves' background. But one important thing is to be careful with cheaters and liers on this website, I think most of the people in here are good, but your know, there are always exceptions.
