Could you correct this short story about the mysterious city of Angkor Wat?
Angkor Wat

Humanity has shown many talents during his permanence on earth and one of them is represented by architecture. Among the most beautiful places ever built, Angkor Wat could not be ignored. Situated in Asia, precisely in Cambodia, it's the world largest religious monument never created.
Being the national symbol of its country, Angkor Wat was also the largest city on earth before the Industrial Revolution who started in Europe. As a matter of fact, it's composed of 100 different temples but they are just one part of all the buildings that were located in its borders. Evidence suggests that many bamboo houses, used by common people, vanished because of time and other reasons. Consequently, experts suppose that the city had about 750 thousand inhabitants however no one knows why it was abandoned after 6 centuries of splendour.
The story of this incredible archaeological site is very long and it appeared to be the capital city of an ancient and big kingdom, the so-called Khmer Empire. As stated before, Angkor Wat dominated the area of South-East Asia for 6 long centuries. After this time, it was swallet up by the jungle but the mystery of its end is still fascinating because there are no written records about possible wars or catastrophic events who lead to its death.
Today many experts are trying to know more about the temple complex and among them, there’s a special group who defines itself as “the aerial archaeologists”. Its name comes from the nature of its research: this commission of specialists flies over the city with a helicopter equipped with lasers in order to detect many details as possible of its old boundaries that are clearly invisible to the naked eye because linked to disappeared friable materials. By the use of this aerial technique, archaeologists guided by Damian Evans discovered remains of canals, roads and many other constructions which make them think that the city was much bigger than expected- its extension is supposed to be similar to the today Los Angeles.
The present day-struggle of this inestimable treasure is represented by the water and the erosion that it causes and a group of engineers and workers, paid by the World Heritage, is working to prevent it from crumbling apart. In detail, its work consists in substituting older sandstones and laterite with new ones reinforcing the fundamentals.
