How to say pet/pets in French?
Bonjour!
I have seen a few ways to say pet/pets in French and I was wondering what native speakers more commonly use?
For example:
Les animaux domestiques
Les animaux (de) familiers
Les animaux (de) compagnie
Chouchou 😂
Merci d'avance!

hello,
you can translate pets by "animaux de compagnie".
ex : a cat or a dog is a "animal de compagnie"if it didn't have any purpose other than to be your best friend. but a cow or a horse wil be "un animal domestique".
Hope it help

I would say "animaux de compagnie" in first and "animaux domestiques" in second.
But If you ask "est ce que tu as des animaux ?"
Usually The person will understand that you talking about pets
Hope that it will help you
