For learning German
Could you guys recommend some sites, apps and textbooks for learning German, please? I would like to learn it effectively from the very beginning. What resources do your teachers of German recommend? I've already started doing lessons on LingQ.

I hope Miriam sees this thread. She's the best person to suggest such resources unless Človek also can. He's human, I am Homo habilis :)

Для совсем начала Немецкий с Егором Youtube channel - все таки объясняет на русском, но без кривляний, воды , повторов И Get Germanised все на немецком

ПОдкасты- Annik Rubens из Мюнхена делала очень интересные выпуски из Мюнхена.

А еще детские книжки на немецком просто великолепные для любого уровня . Нигде такого качества и выбора больше не видел .

А так Miriam все назвала У Easy German субтитры англ и нем -для начала вполне на 3-4 месяца , но потом маловато насыщенности

Aud, as for word order, I remember the Sherlock Holmes short story "A scandal in Bohemia" where the Bohemian king writes an incognito letter to Holmes seeking his help (which turned out to be for retrieving his love letters to Irene Adler, a magnificent and very intelligent woman whom he was later avoiding because she wasn't of noble birth). In the letter he said he had got excellent reports of Holmes's detective abilities, saying "I have this report from all quarters received", which is a very literal translation of "<em>Ich habe diesen Bericht von allen Seiten erhalten</em>". Holmes naturally deduced his identity without much trouble. It turned out that Irene outwitted Holmes in this mission, and he kept her framed photo forever after that in his study. If you want a synopsis of the storyline, it's here:

BTW, Anja's channel is great, just as Miriam says. I've been following it for a long time. I also follow Jenny, whose channel is now called lingoni German. Deutsche Welle of course is always great, as is the Goethe Istitut.

Thank you Miriam for such great resources and for offering your help!:) I don't have any specific question at the moment, apart from the word order in German sentences, but I probably learn about it from the resources you've given.

I think what I will do next is to compose some studying plan for a month or two including these resources or a part of them.
