Are dying languages worth saving?
Came across an interesting article. [2010]
The foundation of endangered languages , estimates that the world loses about 25 mother tongues every year. When these languages are lost most of the knowledge that came with them gets lots too. Do you think we should preserve endangered languages ?

I've always thought we should preserve endangered languages. When a language is lost, we lose so many connections to our past and so much depth to specific people and cultures, and we know relying only on records never paints a full picture.

Of course, we all know it's impossible to preserve every endangered language, which is why I'm appreciative of sources like Wikitongues for trying to at least capture them on recordings so we have something to hold onto.
