tel me please if an1 know........... formal/informal..................

i want to ask 1 thing that when we go through dictionary we find two types of meanings formal and informal...  my question is that what is the difference between informal and formal............why we say that its formal or informal meaning....is it informal words are used rarely??????????

yes,on formal occasion,like delivering a speech or writing a letter etc, we use formal speech,so you'd better say "good morning,ladies and gentlemen" or" dear mr/mrs "something like that,you can't say "morning guys" or"hi dude"or "hi buddy"
which are used between friends in informal occasion

what i know about it is:

formal speech or behaviour is very correct and serious rather then relaxed and friendly, and it is used especially in official situations

 on the other hand

informal speach or behaviour is relaxed and friendly rather then serious, very correct, or official
