Writing about friendship My English teacher asked us to describe one of our closest friends. He said: Describe one of your closest friends? Why did she use the superlative form in the sentence? I know that the adjective 'close' means intimate and near, and when I say s/he so close to me, it means that I'm talking about someone that I consider as my 'best' friend or someone that I love/admire... So I think my teacher should have said: Describe your best friend. (the superlative form) or Describe your close / intimate friend. What do you think? Thank you all!
