What is stopping you from going to Korea?

For me:

Lack of support, not knowing the language well,

discouragment from people who believe Korea is racist.

Negative comments on my interest in Korea.

How about you?

Actually the same as yours, too.

When I go there, I want to speak Korean to Koreans. That's why I wanted to learn their language so much.
I don't care if Koreans are racist(their are a lot of racist people actually not just Koreans, they're almost everywhere) as long as I get to experience their culture. That all I want.
Yes, many people are questioning our interest in Korea but we should not let these people affect us.
I wanted to go to Korea so much but I don't have financial support. I'm stil young and still a student so how could I get such amount of money to stay in Korea.
Studying is much more important(they say) so we should put studying first before anything.

Momoaikata,

My reasons are exactly the same except for the lack of support one; my family and friends do support my going there. I don't know the language at all except introducing myself and some words I learned from dramas. I have also had discouragement from people who believe the racism in Korea. Also, people are very negative about my interests in Korea saying it's weird.

Congraulations!

What is currently stopping me is that I'm trying to find a public school, that would be interested in hiring me for 1 year as a English teacher. Even though i am not a native speaker i consider myself very good in the spoken language and can compete on par with native speakers. Just have to get around the blasted law, that you have to be a native speaker.

Oh yeah I also have 15 months left of my education and then i hold a Bacherlor's degree in English and will be a certified teacher.
