Hey guys help me correct this paragraph:
"Beautiful, this forest is. Tantalizing, the smell is. Jaw-dropping, the view is."
Oh wait, it's all correct. Sorry answer buffs and correction muscles. If you're new to English the above is correct because I'm using anastrophes. Anastrophes are when the order of a sentence is changed to promote emphasis on one word. They are found everywhere from English poetry to movies. Just know in your heart when you post a question or notebook entry and a swarm of self-righteous critics besiege your self-confidence, you're right and they're not.
Besides emphasis it's very artistic. Besides those there aren't any other reasons to use anastrophes.
You are correct. Anastrophes are simply a type of inversions. Inversion is when you switch the order of the sentence for any reason. Anastrophe is only when you switch the order to add emphasis on the one word or phrase.
it looks similar to inversion
Totally I agree with you. Firmly I'll stand against anyone trying to besiege my self-confidence next time. So grateful I am for what you have written teacher :)
