Attack Of The Vegetables.

This is a very interesting English poem from Inkacola who needed translation into Chinese.

It really exercised my mind for all the common vegetable names into Chinese. Anyway, I came up with a Cantonese whimsical translation.

"Attack of the vegetables"

Clouted by sprouts,
And harassed by carrots!
Poked by the beans,
And screamed at by salad!

Poisoned by cabbage,
And pinched by the peas!
Tripped by the spinach,
And peppered with seeds!

Hair pulled by parsnip,
And bruised by tomato!
Glared at by swede
And thumped by potato!

Battered by beetroot,
That pinch, punch and poke!
Slapped by the onions,
And "Arti", who chokes!

This last line is almost impossible to translate. Here he is playing with the name of a guy, "Arty" which sounds alike as "Arti" as in "artichoke", a vegetable. A swede is the rutabaga.

This is great.  Eeryone has their own style, own color and flavour on their feeling.  This is what the group should be.  All sharing and exchanging in an atmosphere of intellect.

s usual, you are good.  I always think that 骚扰 is not as strong a feeling as harass.

"Attack of the vegetables"

Clouted by sprouts,

And harassed by carrots!

Poked by the beans,

And screamed at by salad!

Poisoned by cabbage,

And pinched by the peas!

Tripped by the spinach,

And peppered with seeds!

Hair pulled by parsnip,

And bruised by tomato!

Glared at by swede

And thumped by potato!

Battered by beetroot,

That pinch, punch and poke!

Slapped by the onions,

And "Arti", who chokes!
