Practice without feedback from native-speakers can do more harm than good.

The best way to improve your writting skills is to write as much as you can. The more you practice it the more fruitful it will be.And also do read a lot.

Thanks. I'm reading now 2 books: "Hypireon" by Dan Simmons and Orwell's "1984".

Keep writing and have them corrected by native speakers. No shortcut really, err :-\
Aside from that, reading, lots of reading, certainly helps! :-)
