Ever want to know something about Canada? Ask me anything about my country and I'll give the best answer that I can.
Recently my grandfather had a heart attack and almost died, luckily someone who was with him saved him and took him to hospital, he spent weeks in various hospitals and had to be flown to Toronto for special treatment where he got surgery on his heart and a ulcer they found in his stomach. He is recovering well at home now and it didn't cost our family at all. Down in the States a few days in hospital can cost you thousands of dollars and thats without surgery.
Although dental isnt covered any more but most good jobs have a dental plan so its usually not a huge problem.
Also people like to complain about the higher taxes but most people are fine with it, its usually people who have never needed the system who complain the loudest but thats just people.
Another problem with our healthcare system is that sometimes people (Americans) hear stories of people not getting the service that they need. I will admit, some people will have to wait a long time to get the service that they need but there is a good reason for that; because our system takes everyone it means that there are a lot of people on the list for certain treatments like MRI's and scans so naturally there is a wait for those who apply for high demand treatments.
However the best part about our system is that everything life saving that can be done for you in Canada is FREE. Every part of it, from your stay in the hospital to diagnosis to surgery.
