mandarin or french?

hi everyone...im conducting a research which language is easier to acquire between mandarin or french in terms of the structure for a foreign language?feel free to drop your comments...:)thanks

I'd say German and Scandinavian languages, definitely. 

Perhaps French too, although only for vocabulary, as its structure is typically Latin.

what if someone is comfortable in english but they want to learn a foreign language...which one do you suggest?

Woho, what a question Smile

Whatever the language, its difficulty rises if your mother tongue doesn't belong to the same group (i.e. germanic, slavic etc...). I suppose Mandarin is easier than French for speakers of an ideogram-based language, whereas learning French takes less time for people who use an alphabet.
