I will write about Thanksgiving as it is observed in the United States, although other countries also observe a day of thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a day originally set aside for the purpose of giving thanks to God for His gifts and blessing. Days of thanksgiving were celebrated as early as the 16th century in the land that later became the United States. In 1863, the American president Abraham Lincoln established an annual custom of observing a day of thanksgiving. This day is now celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November of each year. It is a traditional time for families and friends to gather, give thanks, and enjoy a lovely meal centered around the traditional turkey.

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada and has its historical roots in religious traditions, but today is celebrated in a more secular manner. (by Wikipedia) Isn't only in 22/11, is celebrated in the United States on the fourth Thursday in November. =)
