How can i improve my conversational english by italki ?? I can understand when i read but very bad in conversation with any one
mm nice point of view , i like your words it motivates me :)
especially "you always get a few bad apples"
I have never found a group session to accomplish much. I prefer audio conversation with my students individually. It helps to use text to explain what is said. I have found that many native Arabic speakers have never heard an American attempt to speak their language. Once they stop correcting pronunciation and concentrate on communication they both start learning.
Americans are quite forgiving because we have many people in living among us who are learning to speak English. We are very forgiving in grammar and pronunciation. We will help others but we don't demand any level of fluency. Also, most Americans don't spend time with formalities. Most of us just want to talk about our daily lives.
It's my problem too,I can read well but bad at listening .when i try to speak i feel that my tongue is tied.
Oh, guys don't be disheartened, all of you seem to have really good english. I would say practise with non native english speakers aswell, that will help to build your confidence but speak to natives aswell. I am always seriously impressed when a person is trying to learn a language other than their mother tongue
Native speakers putting you down always breaks your confidence, but don't let that put you off! ( I know how it feels)
Unfortunately, you always get a few bad apples ( a way of saying a few people that aren't very nice) just ignore it as best as you can. At least you're trying to learn a foreign language and that is not the easiest thing in the world!
Keep your heads high!
All the best.
I agree with Ando , talking with non-native people would be better for a start after that stage we can talk with native people .
