You can immerse yourself in English with practise, practise practise.

Start off slowly, learn the simple lessons well, and build a good foundation.

Using simple childrens sites can stop it being boring!

There are many things you can do to improve your English. The most important is practice! I recommend listening to English as much as you can. In my opinion one of the things you can do is to start books like word skill or vocabulary in use to improve your vocabulary and some grammer books for improving your grammer. After a while when you became an intermediate English student you can go for listening and other skills.
