When we're learning languages we focus so much on grammar, words, sentence structure etc that sometimes the process seems mechanical. Yet, language really is anything but! It should be about expression, have a flair to it - be artisitic!
So, my question is thus - what is you favourite phrase (in any language) and why?
For me it is thus - "Able was I ere I saw Elba." This is a famous quote is attributed to Napolen Bonaparte! I like that the simplcity of this phrase hides a greater complexity. If you do not study it carefully you will miss that it is a plaindrome! When I read it, I feel like I am sharing secret with Napolen himself - as if only he and I understand his witty remark!
So friends, what is your favourite phrase or quote?
What's the use of rules and regulations if sorry is always accepted.
