In my opinion, to get good at any language you need to develop four areas: 1. speaking, 2. listening, 3. reading, and 4. writing. If all you do is practice writing, for instance, I don't think you will be any good at carrying a conversation in real time. So I would suggest spending at least five minutes a day doing something from all four of those groups. So your listening exercise might be watching a movie or having a conversation over Skype in English with someone. Your reading exercise might be reading a comic book written in English or reading a news article written in English on cnn.com, etc, etc.

Best way, not beast way :) Reading is number one way, it builds your vocabulary and gives you a context for the words. Speaking to other English speakers, preferably native speakers. Listen to videos, tv shows, movies in English.
