There are a lot of ways.

   First, try your best to memorize its pronouciantion.

   Second, memorize some prefixes and sufixes. "dis-"is used before a verb to express the opposite meaning . "dislike","discover",disagree, disapprove,disappear are the antonyms to like,cover, agree,approve, appear. Try to memorize the roots.

   Third, try to learn words in a same situation. When we talk about school, what are the related words crossing your mind? Studnet, teacher,professor, major, dining hall, stadium , lecture,and soon words should in your mind.Thus, whenever you talk about the topic of shool, you can use this words freely.

   Forth, try to match the words and actions or the true things. When I'm walking along on campus, I recall "stroll" ; when I'm sitting at the computer, my neck is uncomfortable. I use "stiff" to decribe my feeling. "I have a stiff neck". Remeber, no matter how many words you memorize, you should make words in use. Keep the ball rolling. Got it?
