"<em>Intouchables</em>" and "<em>Tellement proches</em>" both directed by Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano.

I really loved the first one so I particularly recommend it: I think it deals with a difficult subject in a very sensitive and even funny way. The second one is a comedy and I liked it, but I've seen that humour changes a lot between countries so it depends on you!

"<em>Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain</em>". Has won a lot of awards and it's kind of particular, shown from the perspective of the protagonist

"<em>L'Auberge espagnole</em>". It shows what it's like to be part of the "Erasmus project" (student exchange program between European universities)

"<em>Le scaphandre et le papillon</em>" and "<em>De rouille et d'os</em>" are more drama movies and involve great acting

If you are ok with watching cartoons I can recommend the cartoon ''Les Aventures de Tintin'' which I was reading its comic version as a child. I am still enjoying both the cartoon and the comic version though. Also I can recommend ''Clémentine'' as a cartoon. I am re-watching it after lots of years now, but I must admit that it is kinda scary for children :) Both cartoons are useful for French learning I think.

As for movies I can recommend ''Jeux d'enfants'', "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", ''Delicatessen'', ''Un dimanche à la campagne'', ''Les yeux sans visage'', ''Les diaboliques'' and ''Sur mes lèvres''.
