Okay, here is another really beautiful song by the American singer-songwriter Britt Nicole for you to practice English with. You should note one thing about these lyrics though. She starts the song singing "I lay here" which is technically incorrect. It should be "I lie here". Americans say "lay" instead of "lie" all the time though. Why? I think because most people get confused about which they should actually use and over time this mistake has become the norm and the natural way of saying it in the United States. I would still use "lie" in any formal situations in America though, for instance, job interviews, college papers, etc. Use "lay" in casual situations with your American friends.
Anyhow, I always try to correct my fellow Americans whenever I hear it but it isn't going to change anytime soon. In fact, I even had a semi-argument about it with some other Americans before and I had to direct them to several grammar sources to prove their mistake. They said they didn't care what the grammar books say though because that is how we naturally say it here. Hahaha! *shakes my head* Anyhow, just note this as a difference between American and British English. I'm 90% sure they say "lie" in the UK, although, I could be wrong.
