The story speaks a glimpse of italian culture and history.

I think that is no easy to understand it if you aren't italian:)

The Best of Youth - La Meglio Gioventù

I can recommend you this movie. It was first and only italian movie i watched, and it was really beautiful.

I am Italian and I saw "La grande bellezza" few weeks ago.

I can see why it had such a success, the photography - the images and colours are great - and the whole movie talks about some italian contradictions. I think that these shades are hard to catch for a foreigner so I can understand what you mean, I find it to be a good movie, though.
