What are some embarrasing moments when you are learning your target language(s)? :D

For example, when I was practising German in college, my roommates would ask: "Are you cursing someone?"

Another example is about my British friend learning Chinese.

One day he sent me a voice message, and it sounds like "你要砍我吗? ni3 yao4 kan3 wo3 ma?" which means "are you going to chop me into pieces?" Finally I figured out that actually he was saying "你要看我吗?ni3 yao4 kan4 wo3 ma?"(Are you going to pay me a visit?)

It is doubtlessly to say that making mistakes in learning a foreign language is inevitable, the key is without making mistakes how else can we make progress?

Now I'm gonna hear your stories :D

@Kapil  hahaha, buy is 买 mai4 and sell is 卖4. Many foreigners are afflicted by the intonations of this archaic language :D

I remember reading somewhere that the Chinese words for buy and sell are similar sounding. I imagine a Chinese learner with some kind of stock market related job in China, totally messing up the trades.. :D
