Speaking in the Target Language

For me, learning to read and write using a second language is not the most difficult part. The part that I struggle with the most is finding people to practice speaking with. It seems that this is the only thing that is holding me back from actually progressing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same problem. Sometimes I think that people here are not really interested in learning and being a member here is a total waste of time.

Thank you all for your comments and willingness to help me with a problem that I have been having. I will continue on with my language learning and search for people to speak with in my target language.

I wonder if a group talk on Skype might be a possible way around some of the difficulties that we all have in finding both language partners and in overcoming shyness or wariness when we do find someone who offers to exchange language with us as individuals.

I note that there are people from many time zones commenting on this problem. One of the major issues that we will all have is just being completely out of sync during our own waking hours.

Since I am being more active in learning Korean at the moment, I am going to follow some of the Korean learners commenting here.
