Could you recommend a good non-fiction book?

Something that changed or broadened your understanding of the world greatly, or is just a fun and interesting read.

Many thanks in advance.

Try to read Alvin Toffler's books:

1) Third Wave

2) Future Shock

3) Power Shift

Although many of the things/ideas mentioned in these books have already happened as these books are not recent and Alvin is a futurist. But you might find it a good read.  And yes his books did broaden my horizon in the days I read.

The Quest by Daniel Yergin.

It's about the energetic evolution on the modern world.

More than about science, this book is about why do we live like we live.

Well, Thomas Piketty´s "Capital in the 21st century" has been very controversial lately. If you like Economics maybe you´ll enjoy that book.

If you are interested in history, a book named A Global History: From Prehistory to the 21st Century written by Leften Stavrianos is vrey good.

Jiddu Krishnamurti's "The Awakening of Intelligence". It's quite long and gets a little repetitive in places, but this book blew my mind. It will definitely challenge the way you look at the world.
