Well, I'm not Swedish myself, but Danish, which is very close so I can relate. I would say that if you studied(?) non stop (depends on how you learn it!), then it should take about maybe 3 years? The pronouncation is the most difficult thing, though.

But good luck with it, if you are learning it right now! :)

I am currently finishing my Swedish studies and I can say I can speak and understand the language but not perfectly yet. It helps if you live here in Sweden or have some Swedish contact to practice and improve the language. How long it takes for you or anybody to speak it perfectly it depends on how much effort you put in learning it. At the end is all up to you, I would say!

Best of lucks!

I know a few that can speak swedish like it is supposed to be spoken. But not many swedish citicens can speek this language though. They can make themselfes understood, but that is a small but important difference there.

Well, if you're really strict on the "like Sweeds"-part, then it is biologically impossible, since you have exited puberty and that part of your brain does not allow for another language to be learnt absolutely fluently. However, "There is nothing that cannot be done. There is no limit.". I place little or no faith in the word "impossible", and if you REALLY want to, then, you can just go for it, study it like crazy, and you should be able to communicate fine in 1 year, near-native in 5-10, less if you live in Sweden.
