Wise people say that the practice of giving changes personality.
You start thinking about other people (not just about your well-being). You give people not only things or money but also your love. You in turn receive love in form of gratitude. Eventually you become happier and develop your inner life. Moreover the space around you also changes. The more happiness is at heart, the more pleasant people and enjoyable events are in your life. All is interconnected. I'm just learning this practice, but even small acts of giving did a lot of good for my life and lifes of people around. (P.S. sorry for my grammatical errors. I hope you understood my point of view))

Yes. The act of giving is extremly powerful tool in spiritual realm. All what we possess on this Earth and in this materialistic world is in reality not ours. All belongs to the most High Enteligence who is above us. This powerful tool of giving should teach us to share and care about others - our fellows pilgrims as animals, plants, insects, reptiles.. etc. If you love sport... support sport,s clubs, if you are a member of church, the church should be a manager of your gifts, or orphanage house or hospitals. There is thousand possibilities how to be a manciple in society where you live. Important is to have a trust in those institutions that you endow.

Of course, maybe every deed transforms me. The interesting question arises, what do you want to transform to? The holy one?
