Hi, everyone. I am interested in far east cultures such as the chinese and japanese ones. I only speak few european languages, and I wish I canlearn chinese, that will give a news dimension of understanding, and it open the doors to the chinese culture and way of thinking. I beleive it is not as difficult and damn hard as we hear some people say. I think this is only based on pure speculation because people rarely know an other language to have element to compare....
So I would like to start learning chinese, what method do you recomend me to follow, what are your advices, books, websites, applications, programms.... ?
1. learn Chinese PINYIN first, you can find more vides regarding PINYIN on Youtube.
2. find text books you like, e.g. http://www.ryedu.net/kjwy/enet/200807/8762.html
3. have more contacts with Chinese (e.g. book, newspaper,TV, video, radio, etc.) to understand Chinese context.
3. practice at least 30mins each day.
Good luck to you!
Rossetta Stone is an option.
It is using what’s called Immersion Technique. It teaches you to associate a new word with images and sounds. You will work your way up from a basic set of characters and pick up some more words through drills and repetitions.
Or you can find people who speak either English or your native language to help you learn Mandarin.
其次，中文学习比较难（That's my English speaking friends told me)，你要多说，坚持学习。中国人很热情，愿意帮助别人（尤其是漂亮的女生见到你这样handsome 的男人）。可以看一些中文动画片（我学习英文也是从动画片看起）
Bonjour, Sirius! I can teach you Chinese, I'm a Chinese teacher.
