What is the best way to enrich vocabulary? Websites with good exercises?

I usually read texts and watch tv series stopping them when I find unknown terms. Do you thing there are other quicker way to learn?

And, for people that are actually learning english, which english tv series or movies did you see? If you did, obviously :) And, a last question, do you know some website with exercises at good level?

Thank you

If your vocabulary power is even weaker in comparison with other language capability, I would suggest you spend more time in reading because most verbal English does not call for complicated vocabulary. But if your vocabulary volume is enough, I would advise you take more time in English listening.

As for this confusing term: "English thinking" which baffled me so much when I decided to consolidate my English last year, it could be the most complex problem I ever came across in the course of learning English. Probably, I like more of making English sentence than Englsih thinking. As long as you learn a new word or term, make a longer sentence to challenge if you are competent with this term substantially.

In my case, I applied an English exam to force myself build vocaburary.

It was actually a little hard for me to focus on learning new words using textbooks, audio and flushcards but that really worked. After a couple of months, i found those words appeared in my favorite dramas and news. This was an amasing experience.

Another tip to build vocaburary is, search "a new word to remember" and "news" together at Google. You can find practical usage of the word in news articles.

To use the word while talking or writing. And I think, to memorize the sentence in which the word is used is much better to learn it properly.

Recently, I have started to watch 'Lost' again with English subtitle. I watched it in my own language before. It was advised because in this serie, there are a lot of people from different countries. They have different accents. It might be helpful to get used to these accents.

Thank you. I agree with any of you. I will persist watching tv (also Lost :D) and reading news on Google and on magazines. Then, I think that courses are surely useful, but the best way to learn a new language is to live day by day trying to think in english and, without looking fool, repeat sentences in english after have said them in italian, in my case.

About listening, moreover, I find that english people have a specific inflection and we must learn to say word with the right accent. That's why sometimes I find quite difficult to understand conversations in strict language. Yesterday evening I've watched a movie on YouTube, "Green Street Hooligans", and I was so engrossed that I had an headache :)
