Working hard day by day can lead to the success but not always. One of the main keys to success is being on the sharp of recent trends. However, luck also may play not the last role in overall result. In my opinion, people should not mostly rely on luck, but they also need take into account is that there is no guarantee immediately to have expected result just because the hard work was done.
For a start, it is proven by many famous people that besides working hard, the successful result is also highly depend from special occasion. For example, when Italian scientist L. Galvanie was observing frog's body, he occasionally found that when its foot touch two different connectors made of copper and lead, the frog begin shrinking. The scientist supposed that this was result of electricity in body of frog, however, later it was proven wrong and mistaken. In fact, when two different types of metal is connected then electrical transmission begin to work producing electricity. Although Galvanie wrongly made assumption about the nature of electricity, the experiment gave the first understanding what electric power is.
For another reason why luck plays essential role, it could be said that to become famous, there also can be a requirement from luck to be involved in. Many sport starts, actors, politicians and so on, became famous and totally changed their lives, and merit for this lies to that fact that they were chosen by luck. Another words, the matter of success is determined by chances of each person differently.
Also, it is presumptuous to judge another according to their apparent fortunate. No man can truly understand the suffering of his neighbor. A man who appears comfortably rich may have suffered elsewhere in his life - through the death of a loved one. Retired businessmen have often worked long hours in their youth. Surely, it must be wiser to respect achievement than to deny that anyone has achieved good in the world.
To conclude, if somebody want to be successful then they need work hard and do not lose the hope every time when they meet some obstacles. However, success not always relies on hard working, it incorporates occasions, unexpected aftermath, and, of course, luck.
I see you are new here, I can understand your mistake. Teachers wont normally correct large texts in discussions. It would be better if they would by the way. The notebooks are for the proof reading, correction. The questions and answers are for language related questions.
The rest goes to discussions. This is more of the chit chat section, the non language related questions. And for the people who cannot keep themselves from abusing this site for political and religious proselytization, which is heavily discouraged, and more then often removed.
If you want corrections you should better post it as a notebook entry actually.
By the way, I tend to agree with you. Luck has something to do with success. I know loads of people who work hard and have bad luck and dont get anywhere. I would never blame these people for being lazy.

You will want to change the word fortunate as follows:

I will share with you my general observation, that many people will pass up
good, "lucky" instruction, so that they can go through still more tedious exercises
in the effort to prepare themselves for the TOEFL.
The belief that everything done must be strenuous, and also very complicated.
The men on the old sailing ships of the 17th, 18th, and 19th Centuries, for example, developed
the "shanty". It is a rythmic work song, often employed when crewmen of a ship had to do something like pull together on rope to raise or lower a sail, an anchor and so forth.
Imagine how well a student of English would develop listening and speaking ability,
if they had the luck to be introduced to Whaling Songs and so forth. Of course, the student would probably never learn of the existence of these work songs unless they had the luck of being introduced to them by a language partner.
I frequently, in my own life, refer to an adage that goes something like this.
"It is what you don't know, or aren't being told, that will get you every time."
Another way of expressing this "lucky" insight, is to observe that
what really matters, is not what everyone is telling you. What matters is what they are not
telling you.
