Nacir
How can you have 4 native languages?

I have observed that some users exaggerate their language proficiency and even some professional teachers don't know what a native language means.

A Ukranian girl can have Ukrainian and Russian as a mother tongue, but native in English and Spanish?

In my opinion "native" is not a proficiency above the C2 level. Even I have seen native speakers with pathetic language proficiency. Native means you are born in that language but it is possible that you did not learn the language properly.

Come on guys change your language proficiency in your profiles and be realistic!

When I was trying to speak German in Bavaria, everybody knew I was an American; but when I drank beer in Bavaria, everybody believed I was German.

Meine deutsche Sprache kann verbessert werden, wenn ich bayerisches Bier trinke.  :P

Andreas, you're so kind. Nacir loves to find faults in others and then criticize them for the sake of criticism. I think this is obvious from the naming and shaming strategy he used in this discussion to prove his point of view. Think of it, he keeps viewing profiles of italki teaching members, watch their videos, find faults in their language abilites and then what? Name and shame them. Simply put, Nacir think that he is , along with other people, the "Dark Knight" of italki who's going to save us all from the "TWO-FACES" Persons here.

Murillo Costa, I agree to you. Native speakers have feeling for the language and they speak it naturally. But for foreigners,"words don't come easy" to them. They keep thinking about the grammar.

It is a pity that the children don't learn their mother tongue which is a part of their culture. I have also observed in Paksitan that parents with mother tongue Punajabi speak Urdu with their children (and it is sometimes not correct) instead of Punjabi. They have their own Urdu accent. They think speaking Urdu is a sign of being civilized.
