media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures

With the development of technology, It is unavoidable that our secret are easier leaked than before. Especially some famous people, such as stars, athletes and even some politicians, many media like newspaper, magazines always pay more attention to their personal lives. The media love to say that the public has a right to know. But in my minds, it is easy to violate famous people’s privacy and disrupt their normal routines and patterns of living.
Firstly, anyone have freedom whether to conceal their secrets. And on the other hand, no matter what you are, common people or celebrities, you have the right of privacy under the law. For example, we can always see some famous people’s experiments with drugs or being reckless in car was reported by newspaper or television. But these reporting were not permission that’s why there are more and more lawsuit between famous people and the media in recently years.
Secondly, media has a negative effect on those famous people personal life. These men were making such a hard and transparent living under the media. For instance, celebrities just want to go to park with his family but he have to care about the spotlight. He wants to take a rest to enjoy his personal life, but there were always some interview. To some extent, media restrict even break these famous people’s lives.
Thirdly, it is holistically detrimental for the society if the mass media pay too much focus on famous few so as to ignore the rest of the individuals. After all, the mission of the mass media is not merely to cater the needs of customers, but has a much wider scope, such as to tell the truth, to define what is good and what is bad; to promote cultural values, and the list could be endless.
When are we, the public, going to make it clear to the media that we’re tired of having to watch this kind of thing on the news? Wouldn’t it be better if they would concentrate on more important issues?
