I become nervous when I go to stage. Can any body tell me how to tackle this situation.
Hi Sanjeev, the technique I use is:
Be prepared and practise your script. Before going on stage look into the audience. Make eye contact with people in the audience. Pause for a brief moment before your speech or audition - and look at the people in front of you. Do do rush or look down at your paper.
When you are on stage - relax and look at the people in the audience. Smile and say, Hello.
1) Feel the fear and do it anyway. Try to sense the fear as a physical sensation, like being too hot or too cold.
2) If you can find a Toastmasters club, join them, or something similar. http://reports.toastmasters.org/findaclub/ There are 400 of them in India. It is for public speaking, e.g. business presentations, rather than acting.
Fear is sometimes described as a feeling of "butterflies in my stomach."
