Hi I have been studying German for 2 months.. But I'm facing a problem here.. When I hear the language I can't focus and understand very well..How can I improve my German language in the listening especially.
Well, you filed it under 'Dutch'. If you learn German and listen to Dutch it's maybe not very effective.
2 month isn't very long anyway. Look for some easy to understand stuff on youtube. And listen more, just listen, no need to understand all. Just spot some words. For now.
"Just spot some words for now" is very good advice. I find one big obstacle holding back many students that I have taught, is their feeling of frustration and wanting to know 100% of what they listen to or read. That is, those students who have their heads always buried in a dictionary, or regard language as a mathematical equation for which one correct solution can be found, or that language equals a test score.
I have learned other languages myself and am happy to understand just some of what I observe. As I learn more, then slowly I understand a little more of the language that I observe, and those new words help me to undertsand even slightly more, and on and on it goes - but slowly.
Be happy if you can try to guess the "gist" of what is being said, and don't be too disappointed if you can't. The best tastes in food are achieved after slow and careful cooking. Fast food gives you diabetes and heart disease, and maybe a slightly higher language test score :)
I practise my German listening skill by taking dictation, listening carefully and repeating aloud. I always take note of the sentence structures and figure out the context.
your favorite movies - the important point here is to watch something you REALLY want to watch. Not because it's in German, because you REALLY like to see that movie.
Mmmm but could I ask you kubilay what are the material you depending on? And if you have a study plan ?
Kraut I'll take your advice.. Thank you really I'll try some stuff on youtube
