Have you ever thought that Spanish is too difficult to learn? Have you been trying to find out the best way to learn Spanish without going crazy with tedious Spanish text/e-books or tiring study sessions? Do not worry anymore about that, because you are about to know 10 essential tips about Spanish that are going to show you the best way to learn and practice this worldwide spoken language in an easier, more effective and simpler way, increasing your possibilities to become fluent in it.
1. Make learning and practicing Spanish a part of your daily life
If you schedule your time for learning or practicing Spanish, do not do it anymore! Try practicing/ learning it covering as much time as possible. By saying this, I do not mean that you have to live with a text book under your arm. You do not neither need a text book for learning Spanish nor a class with a professor who is able to speak Spanish to practice it. For example, when you go outside, try to translate to Spanish the names of the things that you see in your way. If you are about crossing the street, try to remember how to say “car”, ”street”, ”crossway”, etc. in Spanish; or if you are using your PC, try to watch videos in Spanish with subtitles in your own native tongue in order to train your listening skill.
2. Make it fun
It is the Nº1 key not to feel frustrated or freaked out when you learn Spanish.
A successful way to learn Spanish (and any language) is listening to songs in the language you are learning that are to your liking. In my personal case, I started learning English from 0 by listening to my favorite songs from an American TV show. I used to print the lyrics of those songs, and then, I listened to them while reading the lyrics and trying to imitate the words pronunciations. It helped me to learn so much English vocabulary and grammar rules, and it also can help you so much about your Spanish learning.
Another technique could be watching your favorite movies or TV shows with Spanish subtitles. Do not directly pay attention to the actions that people do, but read carefully the subtitles while listening to the audio. By doing this, you can learn new vocabulary, new expressions, grammar, and you may also be able to correct yourself through seeing how a specific word/expression is properly said in Spanish.
3. Speak with Spanish native speakers as much as possible
It does not only work with Spanish, but also with any language you are learning.
Try to talk or chat with Spanish native Speakers to improve your skill, your listening comprehension, develop your speaking abilities and also for noticing your weak points in order to improve them and become more fluent day by day.
4. Be patient and consistent
Nobody was born knowing any language, and learning them took its certain amount of time.
If you have been studying Spanish longer than a year, do not hesitate, Spanish is a complex language and it will take time until you can be able to Speak it fluently. Of course, there are cases where people are able to learn Spanish in less than 1 year, even in a few months, but always remember: EACH PERSON HAS ITS TIME TO LEARN.
Learn to Spanish slowly and patiently. Then the results will be shown by themselves sooner than what you think.
5. Learn Spanish in a Spanish speaking country
If you have the chance to travel abroad, learn Spanish in a Spanish speaking country. Be surrounded by native speakers, go to places where you can only listen to Spanish, try to get used to the lifestyle, traditions, costumes and lifestyle of those native Speakers. It will unconsciously force yourself to learn Spanish faster, better and with a notorious ease that will make you speak Spanish fluently in less time than what you could achieve learning Spanish in a non-Spanish speaking country.
