To all the bilingual italkers, how was your childhood in a foreign country and/or having parents with different nationalities? Was it difficult? Was it an advantage? Did you have any weird/funny moments?
I was born in Germany as a Chinese. When I was a kid, I used to talk with both Chinese and German in one sentence and no one could understand me. I sometimes confused myself, too.
Chinglish is common among those who grew up in different cultures. I definitely think it's an advantage because now everyone wants Chinese speakers and it's easier for me to learn because of the immersion at home.
