I'm an American, but I grew up abroad and only drink a little coffee early in the morning.

Drinking coffee with friends is common in the USA, other people drink tea or another beverage. When I'm with friends I only chat with them and they can drink whatever they like. I prefer going on walks or doing something active outdoors with friends.

I mean if the tea or coffee not hot enough it shows that conversation is not enough friendly

It shows how close u r to that special person, if u like very hot tea  or coffee it means u like to start a long conversation with that person , and it means very friendly connection , but if the coffe or tea not hot enough it means that is a friendly way of talking .

I have friends who will make forget that I want coffe, we make it

and then forget to drink it. We have much in common and enjoy

being together.

Regarding new acquaintances I agree that eating or drinking

something good is fun.

Hi people I'm from Italy.. I really love coffee.. I take it more or less three times a day but not necessarily when I'm tolking with friends :)
